Christmas Break

I’ve been back in Alaska for Christmas break, and have been enjoying it. Although Anchorage is very dark this time of year, the weather is still beautiful. Lots of snow. I’ve been taking a break from my computer, but I’ve been shooting a lot. I have a few rolls of film to develop from my new Mamiya C220 that my aunt gave me, and I will do an entire post on that camera once I get the film back. I also ordered another flash and light stand, so I will also be going over my current light setup, and the images that its been helping me produce. But while I continue to relax, here are some images that I’ve taken in the past few days.
The first image is of Mike and Carrie Barcom, lit with a single strobe on a light stand with an umbrella, at 1/4 power. Shot at f/4 and 1/125, ISO 400. Strobe is up and right of the frame, and the umbrella gives the lighting the nice soft look. A little bit of post-processing done in Adobe Lightroom.
The two pictures of my lovely girlfriend Taylor, were taken at f/1.8, 50mm, ISO 400, and a shutter speed around 1/60th. Color correction and cropping in Lightroom

And finally, this shot was taken in my bedroom against my green wall, with an umbrella’d strobe at 1/4 power camera left, with a diffused fill light, an old school Vivitar flash set on Low, triggered with an optical slave.

More to come, I’m excited to get my film developed, and I’m even more excited for my new lighting gear to arrive.
Cheers!
